Mulitple Inserts on Single Page?

We got the autonumber and drop down boxes to work for inserting participation records, but then I realized that the drop down box for dancer email would be really big since there are hundreds of dancers.  Is there a way where the html form would list every dancer, have a fundraiser drop down box for each one (or maybe one that would control all of the dancer's fundraising) then have a spot next to each one to enter the amount raised?  We would also need to do the autonumber thing.

Here is a post by BBA Program Director Scott Moore explaining how to easily share files with group members using IFS and CTOOLs.  I had known that I could share files using IFS Public folder, I just didnt know how.  I also had known that we could create our own CTools group/webpage, I just never realized it could be used to easily share files.

As a BBA at University of Michigan, I'm currently in my second class taught by Bud.  This one is BIT320, Databases & Information.  Bud taught us about weblogs and their business value by going though all of these steps with us.  He also brought in guest speakers from Menlo Inovations and Myst Technology.  So after expereincing this short course myself as a student, I believe this is a great idea to do for undergraduate business majors.

I took this class because I wanted to be able to understand databases well enough so that I could organize University of Michigan Dance Marathon's finance database efficiently.  I never expected to learn anything about weblogs and RSS, especially since I had never heard of them before.  But now I know what they are and understand their value. 

For example, I now recognize the value of implementing blogging into our Dance Marathon website.  It would be a great way for each Central Planning Team member to communicate to committee members and dancers.  Especially since Sage or an RSS feed on the website or into a my.yahoo page would allow members to see information when its blogged and refer back to those blogs when needed.  Just as important, it could provide the same use to current and potential sponsors.

I beleive this understanding will benefit me in my career.  Most likely because I want to start my own business some day and weblogs will offer me an effective way to get consumers to visit my site (via obtaining a good pagerank status on search engines).

Oh ok... just saw this other response after I saved my last post.  I wish I had more time to view all of the weblogs and keep up with all of the posts.

Although My group didnt do that, at least we now know how to correctly do composite foreign keys.  Thanks!

I know this is a little late, but I just saw your reply mentioning that RissRoss's blog would answer my question.  It actually doesn't answer our question since it only talks about composite foreign keys in which both fields of the foreing key are from the same table.  We were having trouble with composite foreign keys in which the fields in the foreign key are from multiple tables.

One of my group members (as you'll see when looking at our code) discovered that it worked if we just do separate alter table commands.  We tried so many ways and this is the only way we could get it to work... hopefully it was right.

Bush to Seek Gay-Marriage Ban

``He (Bush) believes that there are ways that states can deal with some of the issues that have been raised, for example, visitation rights in hospitals, or the right to inherit, or benefit rights, property rights, but these can all be dealt with at the state level, without overturning the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman.''

First, I want to say that I respect those who decide that homosexual marraige is immoral.  Although I dont agree with them, a lot of my morals come from my religion... honosty, dont kill, love/honor your parents and reciprocity.  I just never picked up on the whole ban gay marriage thing.  Although disgusting, I don't view it as immorral.

And because I don't view it as immorral, I beleive that they should have equal rights that comes with marriage... hospital visitation, benefit rights, property rights... what Bush said above.  So I was surprised when I read this, cause I did not know that Bush supported them having those rights without getting officially married.  But if Bush supports giving them those benefits of marriage without officially being recognized as a marriage, then exactly what is the purpose of banning gay-marriage?

Well, Bush, along with all the others, want to protect the sanctity of marriage.  However, marriage is a religious sacrament.  So basically they are interferring with religion, which in my opinion, is violating "separation of church and state".

I also want to point out that although his morals is to ban gay-marriage, he's still showing support for homosexual unions (which includes having sex).  This seems hypocritical to me.  What is also hypocritical to me is those people (mainly men) who LOVE to watch lesbians go at it (because it turns them on), then say homosexual relations are immorral.  If you think a specific typ of sex is immorral, you should not be getting your jollies from it!  (Sorry if saying this is offensive to anyone)

Composite Foreign Keys

We have no idea how to do composite foreign keys when the multiple fields reference multiple tables. The SQL book says nothing about this situation... only shows single field foreign keys referencing a single table and multiple field foreign keys referencing a single table.

Dance Marathon Weblog

I'm going to talk to Dance Marathon's Publications chair about creating a DM weblog. His position is responsible for our website (in case you anyone wants to know, I'm one of the Finance chairs). I think a weblog would be a great way for us to update/inform dancers, committee members, the student body and others in the community about Dance Marathon events and happenings. It would also allow individual chairs to update information on the web themselves instead of having to give it to Matt to post (less work for Matt since he's already bombarded with work).

Also, in addition to having all the blogs posted on our website, we can show everyone how to add RSS feeds into their my.yahoo, install and use Sage or another rss reader. This would be a very effective and easy way for everyone (especially dancers) to get the infromation they need when they want it.

I can't wait to talk to our pubs chair!!!

By the way Bud, can you tell me who your contact was and stuff for getting the class free typepad accounts? I'm guessing you know that Dance Marathon likes to get everything donated if possible.

The New Impact

Well, when I got Scott Moore's email about course bidding and his blog about it, I started thinking about the new layout for Impact. I like being able to customize what information I want to see and to organize it the way I see most useful to me. Its not that aesthetic, but the new layout is very useful, helpful.... I'm trying to think of an adjective to describe the good utility of the new layout.... oh well.

Anyhoo, I just realized that some of these look like RSS feeds and I was wondering if they actually were? It seems safe to assume the BBA Program Director is an RSS feed since all of his stuff are blogs. Not sure about the others though.
